Ah a cool Leaffall evening. I loved it. I wasn't here looking for herbs. I was just relaxing. I had to get away from all the activity and hustle of the camp. All those kits were just so tiring! I looked after them as much as I could, keeping up with my duties all the same. I looked at the trees around me. The evergreens were still greens but the oaks and aspens and such were all turning gold and red and brown. I sat down gazing up at the pinks and reds and oranges that colored the sky in a beautiful sunset. Night was fixing to come and I would have to get back soon but I didn't want this quiet time to end.

Why was Forestshadow here, the tom did not know, but he needed to explore, he wanted to see what was outside the clan's lands. But as he sniffed the air, and looked up, a beautiful she-cat came to his views, he gasped, and stopped walking. ''Hi there'', the tom smiled, his green eyes blazing, he wanted to know her name. The toms ears and tail where high.. delighted.

My ears pricked and I seemed to come alive for the first time. A handsome brown tabby tom cat walked into the the clearing his green as blazing with interest as I was sure my bright yellow ones were. "Well hi there to you too." I almost giggled. My ears were pricked and tail flicking. I wonder if he had a mate? Why would I even think about that?! He wasn't apart of NightClan, he smelled more like IvyClan. Plus I was a medicine cat! Medicine cats couldn't have mates! You told yourself that a thousand times! I scolded myself. "My name is Willownight. What's yours?" I asked. I rose to my feet and walked up to him, brushing my fur againest him for the briefest moment. "What are you doing here on this fine evening? I'm just here getting away from camp." I looked into those bright green eyes and couldn't help but loose myself in them.

The tom looked at the beautiful she-cat, his eyes wild, but he could not do this, he was from another clan, and as he could tell, she was a medicine cat. But he smiled, ''Nice to meet you Willownight, im Forestshadow from Ivyclan, a warrior...you are very beautiful i must add''.The tom looked at her beautiful black speckled pelt, the leaf shape on her head making it even more beautiful.
As her soft black pelt touched his the tom shivered though, he could not do this, she was from another clan, and a medicine cat. But he wondered if she was, if she, um if she liked him. He smiled once more trying not to think about it, ''I wanted to explore.. its very beautiful here..''.

I couldn't help it, a purr thrummed out of my chest. I couldn't do this. I couldn't do this! It was wrong and we would be breaking more than one law in the Warrior code. "Your the most handsome tom cat that I've ever seen." I said, blushing. I meant it too. Not like when I had played with Rabbitfoot. This was real, true. Another purr thrummed out. I couldn't help but feel different as if something inside me had been fixed the gap in my heart filled...or was it? Was this what love at first sight meant? Did he like me? "I'm from NightClan. I'm there medicine cat..." I can't do this. I can't do this. It's wrong! What would Rubystar say? But those things were at the back of my mind. All I could think about was Forestshadow...

He smiled at her sweet purr, but his eyes where wild with worried, what would starclan think if he ever became mates with a medicine cat!?. ''Why thank you'', well that was nice, and Forestshadow decided to sit, his large muscular tail surrounding his paws.
Forestshadow wondered if she liked him, if she would ever think of being with him, so Forest sighed. ''Would a medicine cat ever have a mate''. Yes he did ask, the tom knew she would understand what he meant, be a mate with him. The tom looked down know, his face ashamed.

The brown tom sat and I did too. I wrapped my long tail around my paws. "I don't know Forestshadow...what...what would StarClan say?" I whispered. I didn't know what to do! I really liked him...but I had my duties. "I really want to be your mate but we both lead different lives..." I couldn't seem to finiesh my sentances. "I really want this...I really like you....do you think maybe StarClan approves?" I said doubtfully. There was a small glimmer of hope in my eyes. Maybe just maybe Starclan brought us together for a reason...maybe it really wasn't a concidence...

He sighed, the tom knew Starclan would not like any of this but he looked at her. ''Starclan brought us here for a reason im sure they would ..understand'', but he looked at her now, his tail touched her shoulder.. he wanted her kits, or at least her as a mate so bad..

"Cats have done it in the past but..." I was thinking about Greystripe and Silverstream and their kits or Bluestar and Oakheart and how their kits ended up. I didn't want that for my kits. I wanted to have Forestshadow as a mate and carry his kits but how?! I made up my mind. This was love. Starclan, my Clan, Forestshadow's clan would all have to understand. "Forestshadow, I'll be your mate...I'll carry your kits and yours only. I love you." I began to get shy but I looked up into his piercing green eyes. "I love you Forestshadow, with all my heart, with all the stars in Sliverpelt. With every fiber in my body I shall love you forever and ever." I said determination to make this work showing in every feature of my face and body. It was done. Too late to take it back now. Not that I wanted to but now we were in trouble. We were gonna break rules that are seldom broken. That is if he wanted me too.

Forestshadow looked at her, a small glance but yes many cats have done this in the past, some resulted in horrible ending, some where not so bad. But he nodded, this was love! and Starclan could not deny them of that, ''I will also be your mate, I will love you and protect you.. our kits will grow strong and in to warriors!''. His eyes where blazing, he would love her with all his heart, the tom started to rub his head on her flank, his tail inter winded with her's now.''I will also love you forever, my love''...

''I must go, its almost morning'', he looked back at her, his tongue ran over her forehead, but his tail high, he would never tell a soul, but he would always care for her. ''Should I stay?''. My eyes lit up and I was so happy. I had a mate! A wonderful mate! "Indeed our kits will grow up to be the best warriors our clans have known."...

It was done. I would carry his kits proudly. Finally! Kits of my own! "I want you to stay but...I must go before Rubystar sends a patrol after me. You know how everyone feels about medicine cats. They don't think that we can take care of ourselves in a battle." I said sadly. I could make some kind of excuse of gathering herbs and then getting lost or something..."Could we meet here tomorrow...maybe we could slip away..." I added slyly. I could work but then another thought popped in my head. What would I tell the clan when I had kits? What would they do? They would want to know who the father was... Had I made a big mistake? I wanted kits but I also wanted to continue my life as a medicine cat.

"Same here." I said and padded away in the direction of ShadowClan. What would Rubystar say? How would I hide the kits until they were ready to meet the Clan? Or rather how would I hide them until I was ready to meet the clan? Thoughts and ideas filled my head. This was my perfect life. I had a mate, kits on the way, and I was a medicine cat but how long would I stay medicine cat? I wanted to continue being a medicine, I was scared now...I hadn't thought that maybe I would have to give up being a medicine cat to be a mother. But I could do both! I knew I could! I would work twice as hard. I just had to. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't continue being the medicine cat of NightClan. Oh great StarClan what have I done?! Did you send Forestshadow to me or was is just a concidence? Do you want me to do this? Please StarClan help me! I want to be a mother but I also want to be a medicine cat! Please...StarClan let me continue my lifes work...please... I sent up that pleading prayer to StarClan, hoping that they would understand that I could still serve my clan and be a mother...
